Poverty-oriented development of infrastructure in urban areas
This KfW-supported special training measure aims to strengthen the institutional capacity of Development Workshop Namibia (DWN), the executing agency for the KfW-financed project, Poverty-Oriented Development of Infrastructure in Urban Areas in Namibia. This project focuses on providing low-income households with access to affordable formal plots and title deeds, as well as basic infrastructure and sanitation services. This training aims to enable DWN to efficiently implement the Land Development Programme by supporting the establishment of effective organisational structures and financial management tools, and by ensuring compliance with KfW procedures, such as procurement regulations and environmental and social safeguards, which adhere to national and international standards. The training measure also strengthens staff capacities in project management, communication, and urban design.
