Strengthening capacities for policy planning for the implementation of the 2030 Agenda in Indonesia and Global South (SDGs SSTC)
The Indonesia SDG Implementation Project (Phase II, 2024–26) aims to enhance subnational capacity for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by strengthening local governance, multi-stakeholder partnerships (MSPs) and gender and social inclusion (GEDSI). Working with provincial and district-level authorities in West Sumatra, Gorontalo, North Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, Central Kalimantan and Lampung, the project aligns their work with Indonesia’s national SDG agenda and the 2030 SDG framework.
The project collaborates with Regional Development Planning Agencies (Bappeda), improves governance structures and fosters collaboration between the government, civil society organisations (CSOs) and the private sector in key development areas such as reducing stunting, agriculture and cattle farming. The project provides training in SDG implementation, MSPs, knowledge and data management, and GEDSI mainstreaming. It also strengthens regional SDG Action Plans to improve coordination and decision-making. By promoting inclusive and sustainable development, the project is helping to build stronger partnerships, achieve greater gender equality, and enable more effective SDG monitoring across Indonesia.
