The overall objective of the project is to contribute enhancing climate action and transition to a low carbon resilient economy in Korea. The project purposes are to establish between EU-KOR non-state actors networking, dialogue and exchange in the climate change and low carbon development fields, and to facilitate establishing EU-KOR stakeholder cooperation in climate actions. The project aims at amplifying the scope of non-state stakeholders to take effective climate action:

  • NGOs and CSOs at national and sub-national levels representing the civil society shall be better empowered to promote and advocate for more ambitious climate actions.
  • Urban stakeholders, such as cities, local authorities, utilities and public services shall share, exchange and learn from each other in implementing local climate actions to increase urban resilience, prosperity and quality of life.
  • Businesses intermediaries and businesses from large to medium and small enterprises shall share their efforts and lessons learnt in greening and decarbonising business operations, facilities and supply chains to increase productivity and business opportunities.
  • Academia and research institutions shall exchange scientific approaches of taking climate action at the non-state actors’ level to translate national climate policies and international commitments into measures to reduce carbon emissions on the ground.
