Strengthening Decentralisation and Good Financial Governance (PADGOF)
The Support Programme for Decentralisation and Good Financial Governance (PADGOF) aims to improve citizens access to government services at local and national levels. It ensures that these services are financed primarily through tax revenues and spent efficiently. The programme takes a gender-transformative approach, ensuring that decentralisation and financial governance efforts respond to the specific needs of women and girls, and promote gender equality. GFA is responsible for improving tax administration and expenditure management, working closely with the General Directorate of Taxation, three sector ministries, and the Supreme Court of Auditors. This includes making tax administration more citizen-oriented by improving taxpayer communication, strengthening gender- and climate-sensitive budgeting, and piloting gender- and climate-sensitive auditing. Additionally, GFA supports networking among female leaders in public finance and decentralisation.
