Achievement of the SDGs and the Strengthening of State Revenue Mobilisation (ReFORME)
The ReFORME project in Benin, implemented by GIZ, aims to strengthen the transparency and efficiency of public finances in order to stimulate investment and achieve the goals of the Agenda 2030. This project, integrated into the "Good Governance" sector, supports the Governments second Action Program (PAG II) by focusing on the quality of public spending, resource mobilisation and financial control. The project adopts a multi-level approach, strengthening the capacity of tax institutions to improve risk management and the accuracy of tax returns. The team provides technical support to the DGI in the following areas:
- Internal risk management: Adoption of new procedures to improve tax governance.
- Accuracy of tax returns: Development of new processes to improve revenue collection.
- International taxation: Organisation of capacity-building sessions, including specific modules in Europe and Benin.
- Gender-sensitive taxation: Proposal of legislative initiatives for an inclusive tax policy.
