In order to strengthen energy efficiency in the residential sector, the EBRD established the EUR 60 million Croatia Buildings Sustainable Energy Financing Facility (Croatia Buildings SEFF) which will take the form of credit lines extended to Participating Financial Intermediaries (PFIs) for on-lending to eligible sub-borrowers to finance residential energy efficiency investments. The Facility aims to:

  • Address the currently underfinanced residential EE sector and increase public awareness among a wide range of stakeholders, demonstrating the social and economic benefits of EE investments
  • Demonstrate the market potential in the sector to Croatian banks
  • Enforce higher energy performance standards and further development of sustainable energy technologies
