Decentralization and state reform

The target of the technical assistance for the project was to strengthen the performance of the Malian state to mobilize funds, to develop the regional economy and to provide local authorities with basic public services. Since the state crisis of 2012, the strengthening of decentralization in Mali was understood as a means to re-establish and promote the state. The technical assistance module had the following objectives: Governmental and administrative bodies used improved institutional frameworks and tools of decentralization to strengthen the financial and economic power of the regions.
