Contract value: 1,940,057 EUR

The City Climate Finance Gap Fund, which is co-funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMU), the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and Luxembourg’s Ministry of the Environment, supports the early-stage preparation of climate-resilient and low-carbon urban transport projects in developing and emerging economies. Administered by the EIB and GIZ, the fund provides technical assistance, strategic advice and capacity building to help cities develop investment-ready climate infrastructure projects. By facilitating project identification, feasibility assessments and investment prioritisation, the Gap Fund contributes to the 1.5 Degree Celcius climate goal and strengthens urban climate resilience.

GFA provides technical, institutional and legal advice on preparing sustainable transport projects, including pre-feasibility studies, impact assessments, pilot projects and financing strategies. Thanks to its global network of experts, GFA deploys highly qualified teams around the world to advise cities on developing bankable mobility projects that align with global climate objectives.
