Civic Engagement Fund (CEF)
The Civic Engagement Fund (CEF) provides Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) with funding and capacity-building support to align their visions, expand outreach, and collaborate for maximum social impact in the fields of human rights, women’s empowerment, the rule of law, and democratic governance, in line with SDG 16 and SDG 5.
The CEF will primarily support local and national CSOs – including grassroots NGOs, human rights defenders, think tanks, research institutions, advocacy networks, media outlets, and private sector actors – that focus on women, children, youth, minority groups, climate justice, and human rights; that promote knowledge and innovation to achieve the SDGs; or that engage in evidence-based policy dialogue to hold public institutions accountable. Special support will be given to grassroots organisations working directly to reach the most marginalised and those furthest left behind, but which often lack financial or technical capacity.
