Civic Engagement for Development (CED)

The CED project in Kyrgyzstan is funded by the Swiss Government to support civil society in playing a role as an independent development actor and a partner of the authorities. The project promotes increased participation and influence of citizens and NGOs on political decision-making. A special focus is placed on women and youth and the representation of their interests. The right to participate in decisions that affect one’s life is intrinsically linked to other human rights such as the rights to peaceful assembly and association, freedom of opinion and expression, and the rights to education and to information.
