Effective management and prevention of non-communicable diseases, phase I
This is the main phase of the inception phase called Strengthening Governance in the Primary Health Care System in Kyrgyzstan. The overall goal envisioned by the NCD project is to improve the health and wellbeing of the Kyrgyz population in rural areas through equitable access to quality primary care services and promotion of healthier lifestyles. To achieve this goal, the project assists the Kyrgyz Government to create a conducive environment to improve efficiency, equity and management of the PHC system to cope with the increasing burden of NCDs. Therefore, the two key areas of interventions of the project are capacity building of the PHC staff at all levels to detect NCDs in the early stage and to raise awareness of risk factors associated with the development of NCD among the population.
