Technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of Tajikistan
In an EU-funded project in Tajikistan, GFA supported policymakers in translating lessons learned from pilot interventions into national laws and regulations. The goal was to achieve sustainable poverty reduction and inclusive growth by supporting the development of national health and social protection systems that are equitable, efficient, and of improved quality. The GFA team helped institutionalize the health policy development process. Working groups representing a range of stakeholders from within and outside the health sector integrated evidence and analysis into policy debates and decision-making. GFA also developed a strategy for strengthening the health financing and resource use function to generate sufficient resources to sustain a quality primary health care system.
