The results of phase 1 of the program were as follows:

  • Identification of 84 health centers (FOSA) to be rehabilitated and start of rehabilitation works in four regions of the country,
  • carrying out health checks for 30,000 pregnant women in 2016, with technical support from CRDS,
  • establishment of regional health promotion funds (FRPS) to improve drug management and financing of health services.

Phase 2 of the project is financed exclusively by KfW. The main objectives are to rebuild and equip approximately 20 additional FOSAs in two regions and to transfer the management of health checks to the regional health promotion fund (FRPS).
