Improvement of mother and child care
The program supported the provision of contraceptives, the adaptation and printing of maternity cards, and the modernization of multidisciplinary childrens hospitals. The latter was achieved through the provision of adequate medical equipment and the introduction of modern health care delivery and rationalization. The objectives of the program were to improve the supply of modern contraceptives and increase their acceptance and use by women, while respecting their personal freedom of choice, prenatal care, diagnosis and medical treatment of children. The project improved the quality and efficiency of child health care.
