Contract value: 3,725,122 EUR

UMIMCC is designed to lower the stress of migration flows in Bangladesh due to climatic and extreme weather events such as flooding, droughts and land erosion by improving people’s employability through training and work-based learning in companies of the region. To develop economic pull factors for migrants UMIMCC strengthens middle-sized cities through public-private-cooperation models on local development of the private sector and the empowerment of low-skilled workers, slum dwellers and regionally displaced people to access local labor markets. Classical vocational training providers train for various occupations, e.g. welding, kitchen and housekeeping, RMG to construction, mechanics and IT. Interested and skilled individuals with prospective competences will be encouraged to create their own small business start-ups. Also, Entrepreneurship Skills Training (EST) Courses to support individuals to get started their own business, in-company training, dual training approaches are being designed and offer 6,000 trainees a chance to find qualified employment.
