Rural education project - PROEDUC V
The Rural Education Project V aims to improve the provision of technical education in the diversified middle school cycle. The objective is to expand and improve access to quality vocational education and to respond to the labour market needs of poor young people, especially indigenous people (aged 16-18), in rural areas by expanding the educational offer in six departments of the country: Huehuetenango, Quiché, Alta Verapaz, Baja Verapaz, Chiquimula and Jalapa.
The project components are:
- Access to Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through improved school infrastructure: construction of TVET centres and rehabilitation of existing TVET schools
- Curriculum development and implementation
- Training of teachers and trainers
The executing agency is the Guatemalan Ministry of Education (MINEDUC).
