Promotion of technical and vocational education and training (TVET)
In line with the Afghanistan National Development Strategy and the National Education Strategic Plan, the Promotion of TVET programme aimed to improve the employability of graduates from selected vocational training institutions in Afghanistan.
GFA implemented the non-formal TVET in order to develop qualification concepts for youth school drop outs, uneducated and illiterate youth. Furthermore, GFA was responsible for curricula development in the formal TVET component, aiming at the development of labor-market oriented competency based occupational profiles and curricula in selected pilot sectors. This also included capacity development for DMTVET related to methodologies regarding needs analyses as well as CBT-standards and curriculum development. For examination and certification, GFA developed a competency-based examination and certification system in line with the Afghan National Qualifications Framework.
