Export initiative Energy phase 5
The Technical Secretariat of the German Energy Solutions initiative supports German SMEs to tap foreign markets and enhance technology transfer in the area of RE & EE, with a newly established focus on Hydrogen. The initiative actively supports in identifying projects in priority countries, which can receive funding from the International Hydrogen Ramp-up Program (H2Uppp) in the framework of the initiative. With this, the initiative provides best practices technical solutions for the implementation of the energy transition vis-à-vis multiple stakeholders around the world, including South Africa. The initiative develops and provides easy access to foreign markets to SMEs by organizing the German pavilion at major RE/EE trade fairs or delegation visits, business matching and information events. It provides country specific market studies (incl. economic and technical prefeasibility studies for RE deployment, assessment of job potentials etc.), targeting all RE technologies and sectors (power, transport, industry, buildings, service etc.).
Some main activities include:
- Development, management and M&E of information and B2B-activities in close cooperation with the German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs) network including on topics such as production and use of green hydrogen in (local) industries and hydrogen production from RE sources
- Facilitation and organization of high-level stakeholder (policy) dialogs and preparation of policy recommendations
- Development of RE/EE pilot and lighthouse projects in cooperation with GIZ and DENA
